About Us
Our Company's History
Brewbaker's had humble beginnings. In the summer of 1959 LZ Brewbaker left a job that took him away from his family and began selling used furniture from a barn on his property east of Onaway, which he named "The Bargain Barn". In 1962 LZ built his first store in downtown Onaway, it was 40 feet by 60 feet and due to the volume of business he did; the building was enlarged several times. The decision was made in 1966 to sell only new merchandise, so the name of the business was changed to Brewbaker's.

 Our Stores Today
Brewbaker's has always been a family business, so LZ’s wife Marian, and their 4 children spent their time helping Dad run the business and serve the growing number of customers visiting the ever-expanding store. In 1976 one of those children, Kathy (Brewbaker) McConnell and her husband Jerry bought Brewbaker's.
Today the McConnell's, their children, Michael, his wife Lindsey, and Jason McConnell continue the growth and expansion of the company LZ founded back in 1959. This 3rd generation's contributions will help ensure the company's success well into the future. At Brewbaker's we’re committed to keeping customer satisfaction as our number one priority by bringing the best value in home furnishings to all our customers.
